PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: 1 October 2026
Reverly ("Reverly", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Conteza LLC, 5318 Eliots Oak Rd, Columbia, MD 21044, United States. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Reverly mobile application (the "App"), how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you control it.
We have written this policy to be specific. Where we state a purpose or a retention period, that is what we do.
Reverly is for users aged 18 and over.
This summary is for convenience. The sections below govern.
Reverly compares an image you upload against publicly available, indexed web content using a standard perceptual image matching algorithm. It returns images that are identical or near-identical to yours - copies, crops, resizes and reposts of the same image - together with the public web pages where they appear.
Match accuracy depends on image clarity and on what is publicly indexed online. Results are not guaranteed to be complete or accurate, and should be treated as supporting information.
Reverly does not perform facial recognition or face identification. It does not perform biometric processing of any kind. It does not create face embeddings, facial templates, face geometry, or facial landmark data. It cannot find a different photograph of the same person. It does not build profiles of you or anyone else. It does not maintain a database of individuals. It cannot determine who a person is.
A search result does not prove identity, ownership, authenticity, or any relationship between people or accounts.
Your single most important privacy control in Reverly is the Search History setting. It determines whether your uploaded images are stored at all.
Your image is never written to our servers. It is held in memory only for the duration of the search, and is erased as soon as the search completes. Nothing persists: no image, no copy, no thumbnail.
Results are returned to your device and are not retained by us. If you close the results, they are gone.
Every image you submit is stored on our servers, together with its results, so that you can return to them later. These remain stored until you choose to delete them.
Turning Search History on or off applies to all future searches. You can change the setting at any time in Settings > Privacy.
When you select, upload, or capture an image, we process that image to perform the search you requested.
Whether that image is stored depends entirely on your Search History setting, as described in Section 3.
We process only the image you select. We do not scan your photo library, and we do not access images you have not chosen.
If you have Search History turned on, we store the images you submitted, the results returned, and timestamps.
You can delete any single item, or clear everything, at any time. Deleted items are permanently removed within 24 hours.
To operate and secure the App, we collect: device model, operating system version, app version, language and region settings, IP address, crash reports, and basic feature usage counts.
Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and an anonymised transaction identifier. We never receive or store payment card details.
We do not collect your name (unless you provide it in a support request), contacts, calendar, location data, health data, browsing history, or any image you have not explicitly selected.
This section describes our collection, use, disclosure, sharing, retention and deletion of information relating to images that contain people.
Reverly does not collect Face Data.
We do not generate, store, or transmit face embeddings, facial geometry, facial templates, face mesh data, facial map data, or facial landmark data. We do not use ARKit, the TrueDepth camera, or any depth-sensing API. We do not use facial recognition software.
What we transmit is the image file itself. Matching is performed by a standard perceptual image matching algorithm operating on the visual characteristics of the whole image, in the same way as any reverse image search. It returns copies of that same image - crops, resizes, reposts - and cannot find a different photograph of the same person.
The algorithm has no concept of identity. It cannot determine who appears in a photograph.
Reverly is optimised for searching photographs that contain people, which is why the App uses the term "face search". This describes the kind of image you are searching for, not a different technology. The same matching algorithm is applied to every image regardless of content.
For clarity: Reverly receives and processes the photograph you upload, which may contain a face. We do not extract, derive, or store any facial measurements, coordinates, landmarks, or other facial characteristics from it. The photograph is handled as an image file and is retained and deleted as described in Section 5.6.
Your uploaded image is used for one purpose: finding identical or near-identical images within publicly available, indexed web content, in response to a search you start.
We do not use your images for authentication or identity verification, for advertising or marketing, to build profiles of you or anyone else, to identify individuals, to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, or for any purpose other than returning the result you requested.
We have no current or planned future use of facial recognition, biometric processing, or face data in Reverly. If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain fresh consent before any such processing begins.
Before your first search, the App displays a full-screen notice explaining what is sent, where it goes, how long it is kept, and what we never do with it. Nothing leaves your device until you tap to agree.
You must also confirm, on every upload containing a person, that the photograph is of you or that you have the subject's permission. This confirmation cannot be disabled or dismissed.
You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings > Privacy. Withdrawing consent stops all further processing immediately, and any stored images and results are permanently deleted within 24 hours.
Images are transmitted over TLS 1.3 to servers operated by Conteza LLC, located in the United States.
Where Search History is off, images are held in server memory only for the duration of the search and are never written to storage.
Where Search History is on, images are written directly to our database. They are not placed in any cache, content delivery network, temporary file store, or message queue. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.
We do not share, sell, transfer, or otherwise provide your uploaded images to any third party.
Searching and matching are performed entirely on infrastructure we operate. We do not send your images to any external search service, image-processing service, artificial intelligence provider, or analytics provider.
We do not provide your images to advertising platforms, analytics providers, data brokers, or information resellers under any circumstances.

Deletion:
Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We do not retain copies of deleted images.
At any time you may withdraw consent, see what is stored, delete any individual search, delete everything, or request a copy of your data.
Email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
Reverly must not be used for surveillance, stalking, background checks, employment or tenant screening, or to identify individuals. Searching a person's photograph without their permission breaches our Terms and may be unlawful where you live. Accounts found doing so are terminated.
Reverly includes a separate feature that analyses an uploaded image for indicators that it was synthetically generated, and returns a confidence score.
This feature does not process faces. It analyses the image as a whole and its file characteristics. It does not detect, measure, or compare facial features, and it cannot identify anyone.
This analysis runs on infrastructure we operate. Images are not sent to any external artificial intelligence service. Your images are never used to train any model.
Confidence scores are estimates, not proof. An image flagged as likely AI-generated may be genuine, and an image flagged as likely genuine may be synthetic. Use the result as one input alongside your own judgement.
Uploaded images: returning the search or analysis you requested.
Stored search history, where enabled: letting you revisit past results.
Device and technical data: operating, securing and debugging the App.
Subscription data: granting access to paid features.
Crash and diagnostic data: identifying and fixing faults.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed above.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your uploaded images with anyone.
Limited operational data is shared with Apple, which receives transaction identifiers for the purpose of verifying your subscription status.
No third party receives your uploaded images.
We may disclose information where legally required, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the security of the App. Where legally permitted, we will notify you first.
Uploaded images, Search History off: never stored.
Uploaded images, Search History on: stored until you delete them.
Search results, Search History on: stored until you delete them.
Device and technical data: 12 months.
Crash reports: 12 months.
Subscription records: as long as legally required for tax and accounting purposes.
Support correspondence: 24 months after resolution.
All user-initiated deletions complete within 24 hours.
To delete everything, go to Settings > Privacy > Delete All Data, or email [email protected].
You can turn Search History on or off (off by default), delete individual searches or your entire history, turn monitoring on or off, withdraw consent for image processing, manage notifications and photo permissions, and delete your account along with all associated data.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent.
California (CCPA/CPRA). You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, request deletion, and request correction. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
EEA and United Kingdom (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing uploaded images is your consent. For device and technical data, our basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the App. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We verify requests in order to protect your data, and respond within 30 days.
Monitoring is off by default.
If you turn it on, Reverly periodically re-runs a search you have saved and notifies you when a new matching image appears.
Monitoring requires Search History to be turned on. We cannot re-check for new matches without a stored copy of your image to compare against, so monitoring is unavailable while Search History is off. If you turn Search History off, monitoring stops.
While monitoring is active, your image remains stored for as long as you keep it. If you turn monitoring off, or delete the monitored item, the stored image is permanently removed within 24 hours.
Reverly searches publicly indexed web content. We do not maintain a database of individuals and we do not build profiles. The App cannot identify anyone, and we do not store information about people who appear in results.
If an image of you is being returned in search results and you would like it addressed, email [email protected] with the details. We will investigate and respond within 30 days, and can exclude the image from our results.
Where the image is hosted on a third-party website, removal from that site must be requested from its operator.
Reverly requests access to your camera or photo library so that you can capture or select an image to search.
We access only the image you select. We do not scan, index, or read any other content in your library. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
In transit: TLS 1.3.
At rest: AES-256.
Access: restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis, with access logging.
Infrastructure: servers operated by Conteza LLC, located in the United States.
Caching: we do not use a content delivery network or any third-party cache for uploaded images. Stored images are written directly to our database.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Image search features are not available to residents of Illinois, Texas, or Washington.
Reverly does not collect biometric information as defined under those states' laws, and we do not believe those statutes apply to our image matching technology. We apply this restriction as a precaution, given the subject matter of the App.
Reverly is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and users confirm their age at first launch.
If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we delete it immediately. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact [email protected].
Uploading images of minors is prohibited by our Terms.
Reverly is operated from the United States, and your information is processed on servers located in the United States.
If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. A copy of these safeguards is available on request from [email protected].
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
For material changes affecting how we handle your images, we will notify you in the App and, where required, ask for your consent again before the change takes effect.
